Blanked Out

She taps her fingers
On her smartphone
And her laptop
Watching the time slip by

Day after day
At work
The meaningless office gossip
The ever-increasing mails

It feels like she is blanked out
No thoughts in her head
Just the pending assignments flit
Back and forth

Every phone call
Is a surprise
Everyday is predictable
She looks for something new

Another day, another task
But the blanks keep filling
With the routine rigmarole
She craves to find a place

Where she can fit in
A place like home
Where Mr. Fluffy curls up
On her lap, as she sips her tea

A day with no stress
And little worry
Less blanks
Isn’t that what we all keep looking for?
