We all know that change is not a great thing. The human brain is programmed to believe that resisting change is the best way out. Why not take a nap or scroll through Instagram, instead of trying something new? Change brings a challenge, an unknown territory. Change can be terrifying and scary.

But if you think about it, the world thrives on change. Imagine the change that every creature has to go through. From just being a baby to growing up and learning to look after themselves- that in itself is a big change. And animals go through it all the time and so bravely. Imagine the fear that a baby pigeon or puppy would face, with new challenges each day. How to walk or fly, how to look for food, how to be aware of the surroundings, and how to beware of danger. Mama birds leave their offspring on their own, once they are old enough to fend for themselves. Isn’t that an amazing thing? A beautiful change, that is beautifully overcome so noiselessly.

Resisting change would deprive us of so many experiences and emotions. It would even thwart our personal and spiritual development. Saying hello to everything is something that everyone should attempt to implement. It could be a simple task of waking up early to workout, or learning how to bake a cake. It needs effort, and it is this very effort that shapes our value systems and personalities.

Marlin: I promised him, that I would never let anything happen to him.
Dory: Hmm, that’s a silly thing to promise. Then nothing would ever happen to him! Not much fun for Nemo. :)

Learn to say Hello to new things. New friends, new hobbies, new responsibilities, new learnings, new mistakes, new discoveries, new fascinations, and new tasks. The routine is great, the comfort zone feels warm and cushiony. But sometimes, it helps when you take a leap of faith and try something new. Who knows, you might even find it enlightening.

Learning to accept change is empowering. Because there is no way you can possibly run or hide from it. Might as well, learn to enjoy it. Your personality will blossom and you will discover strengths you did not even know you had. You will find your inner self and reconnect with the light within.
