A listicle.

  1. You are your own boss. You work by your own rules.
  2. You learn the art of time management.
  3. You learn to network. To build relationships with clients directly. The satisfaction is immense.
  4. You get to curl up in bed with your laptop and write.
  5. You explore new styles and genres. You get to find yourself.
  6. You don’t have to travel to and from work anymore.
  7. An added bonus if you have a furry baby. So many more hours of play with Mr. Fluffles. ❤
  8. You get variety- immense variety. In terms of subjects, genres and styles expected. This is really good considering the monotony of the average day job.
  9. You get to choose your workload.
  10. Homemade tea. Period.
  11. You finally have the time to devour those books you have been collecting. For research or even as leisure reading.
  12. You quote your own price. Once you are set with a client base, you earn well too. Steady building of experience helps you chart your own course.
  13. You get to be your creative best and grow intellectually.
  14. Work life balance is a reality. You get to be around the people you love and give time to relationships. That is a rare thing these days.
  15. You get the freedom, the choice to not be in the daily grind.

So worth it. :)
