The Reminiscence of School.

Most people have fond memories of their school. A classroom is a child’s sanctuary; and the school is his fort. It’s where you walked in as a toddler and grew up to be a rounded and sort of developed personality. ‘Sort of’ as well, there is also college, work and life in general to teach new lessons everyday. A school is where your buzzing mind was fed with wholesome content. Choosing the best school is on a priority list for parents, as it impacts the life of the child tremendously. A school brings the first set of friends, people we grow up with, and laugh and cry with. Bittersweet memories of little fights and how we made up.

When we were children, we had an uncanny ability to forget things. To move past inconveniences, or troubles with a smile. School brings forth a maze of challenges for a young mind to cope with. Semester exams, homework, mid terms, extra curricular activities, annual day performances, decathlons, competitions.. The list is endless. It is in school where we learned the valuable skill of multitasking. Optimizing time to do multiple activities efficiently. How else could we find time to watch the latest episode of Hannah Montana along with completing the pile of Algebra homework?

Then there was time with family. The importance of family. There used to be no cell phones, no Whatsapp to distract kids and not much internet. Externalities were minimal at the sanctuaries of home and school for children. Where joys were pure and simple- an extra hour to play outside, or catching up on the telly after homework was done and dusted.

It was school where we learnt to grow as individuals, where our personalities blossomed. Where we were encouraged to follow passions. Where there was limited pressure for life ahead. Where we met our first teachers. Where we got pampered as well as struck with a metaphorical stick; all at the same time. Where we made some good friendships. Where we grew from bad experiences and friendships. Where we matured as people, and prepared ourselves for life ahead. A school may be just a building with classrooms, blackboards and chalk. But it is one of the most memorable and eventful places a person goes through in life.

And reminisces the sweet memories later. Forever.
